Kirsty Bennett

I am an experienced Maternity Nurse and have been supporting families for over a decade. I am passionate about providing quality care to my clients, and invest much of my personal time researching and studying infant feeding and gentle sleep strategies. This ensures my clients receive up-to-date, evidence based information when they are making decisions about their families.  Whether a family needs support with their feeding journey, synchronising their twins routines or just need to know their little one is being cared for while parents catch up on well earned sleep, I work hard to deliver respite and peace of mind.

My maternity work has predominately been with twins, and my main areas of professional expertise are breastfeeding support and gentle sleep coaching.

In 2014 I trained as a Maternity Nanny in London through accredited childcare course provider Babyem, who provided me with the knowledge and tools to deliver the best possible experience of early parenthood to the families I work with. My training has enabled me to exercise an “Attachment Parenting” approach to my work, where babies are held and responded to.

With my training in breastfeeding support and sleep coaching, I can create routine and order while ensuring that the baby/babies physical and emotional needs are met, as well as those of the parents.

After concluding my (non medical) post-natal Maternity Nurse Care qualification, I completed a number of more specialised courses. This ensures that I have the knowledge to give quality care to the families I work for in multiple areas of parenting; from gentle sleep coaching techniques to breastfeeding multiples.

My experience ranges from working with single formula-fed babies, to supporting mothers of premature multiples in achieving their breastfeeding goals. I have also been able to offer advice on effective gentle sleep coaching to parents who are exhausted but are not comfortable with “cry-it-out” methods.

I am able to adapt to routines that are already in place, and have created routines for families that work in harmony with both the baby’s and parents’ needs. My support with each family has been diverse and tailored to each circumstance. This can range from supporting parents with a baby in SCBU, to accompanying families on their first Holiday away with a newborn.

I work hard to deliver respite and peace of mind, to make the journey into parenthood as enjoyable as possible. If you would like any further information, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
